Character encoding problem with PHP

Hello,

we have an issue with Sharepoint and PHP API (using Thybag/SharepointAPI) - we can insert items into SP list, but not strings with czech characters. We've tried everything but the strings are still without special characters. We are using UTF-8 everywhere.

Not working: urlencoding, htmlentities, mb_encoding...

Can you manually enter Czech characters into the SharePoint list when editing or creating new items through the SharePoint interface?
