Changing order of Views in the list view selection box
Can you change the order the list of views in the list view drop down selection box in the upper right of a sharepoint list? By default the views are ordered alphabetically but I need to group them myself.

I believe they are listed alphabetically. You might try putting numbers in front of your views. For example: 1. My View2. His View3. Her View Jeff Holliday, MCTS - Solutions Architect - Portals and Collaboration - Ensynch, Inc

Thanks but that fix will not work with the number of views I have and the fact that different people will be adding views from time to time and we can't go back and renumber everything each time. Anyone else know if it's possible to re-order them?

Views appear in the order they were created. To put views in the desired order, specify the view that you want to appear first as the default view, delete the other views, and then re-create the other views in the order you want them to appear. This of course is a temporary fix only as any View added later on willbe added to the bottom of the list. This is because they are sorted by ID (internally). Thanks, Arpit

The views are listed alphabetically by default actually. I created them in no particular order and they alphabetized themselves. Anyone else have an idea? Thanks.

What about creating a custom page in designer? You can populate a dropdown programmatically using splist.views. Or what about editing the page for the list and manually placing them in a dropdown with links to the view ASPX pages? These options are viable I guess but I was hoping there was a setting somewhere that could be changed a little more easily.
