Change view based on dropdown value

How can I switch to a specific view - if a certain value is selected in a dropdown list?

(client based infopath form)

Add a rule, when this field changes value to X switch views to Y

in infopath on the home ribbon, choose Manage Rules, when the rule section appears, add an action rule to the drop down control, set the condition to be when the control is equal to the value you desire and the action to be, switch view to which ever view you desire.

Hi

OK that means your are customizing a list form, the option to switch view is not possible from a field, you would have to add a button to the form which is hidden unless the drop down equals your value and then have the button when clicked switch views. Its a work around but requires the extra step.

So, i was having the same doubt and found out about the Form Load rules.

This changes the Form according to a value, only it does it when the person clicks to view the item.

To use it, go to the Data tab inside InfoPath and find the Form Load button. Then its just a matter of choosing the values and the Forms that should load when the value changes.
