Change default selected value for "Scope" in "Create Security Group" RCDC
Hi, I wanted to change default value in a "Scope" to "Global" but every change fails to make it default. "Scope" is "Universal" by default and I'm unable to change it. Do you have any idea how to change default value to other? I've tried: Changing <my:Option my:Value="Global" my:Caption="%SYMBOL_GlobalCaption_END%" my:Hint="%SYMBOL_GlobalHint_END%"/> <my:Option my:Value="Domain Local" my:Caption="%SYMBOL_DomainLocalCaption_END%" my:Hint="%SYMBOL_DomainLocalHint_END%"/> <my:Option my:Value="Universal" my:Caption="%SYMBOL_UniversalCaption_END%" my:Hint="%SYMBOL_UniversalHint_END%"/> to <my:Option my:Value="Domain Local" my:Caption="%SYMBOL_DomainLocalCaption_END%" my:Hint="%SYMBOL_DomainLocalHint_END%"/> <my:Option my:Value="Universal" my:Caption="%SYMBOL_UniversalCaption_END%" my:Hint="%SYMBOL_UniversalHint_END%"/> <my:Option my:Value="Global" my:Caption="%SYMBOL_GlobalCaption_END%" my:Hint="%SYMBOL_GlobalHint_END%"/> and even to: <my:Option my:Value="Global" my:Caption="%SYMBOL_GlobalCaption_END%" my:Hint="%SYMBOL_GlobalHint_END%"/> <my:Option my:Value="Domain Local" my:Caption="%SYMBOL_DomainLocalCaption_END%" my:Hint="%SYMBOL_DomainLocalHint_END%"/> <my:Option my:Value="Universal" my:Caption="%SYMBOL_UniversalCaption_END%" my:Hint="%SYMBOL_UniversalHint_END%"/> <my:Option my:Value="Global" my:Caption="%SYMBOL_GlobalCaption_END%" my:Hint="%SYMBOL_GlobalHint_END%"/> It gives more values, but "Universal" is still choosen by default. Tried to change "StringRegex" value for "Scope" BindingDescription for Group object from ^(DomainLocal|Global|Universal)$ to ^(DomainLocal|Universal|Global)$. No change of default selected value in drop-down. Is there any way to change this default selected value? Keep trying

I was looking through the "Forefront Identity Manager (FIM) 2010 Resource Control Display Configuration XML Reference" document in technet and found this.. Known Issues Default value in many Resource Control Display Configuration controls is not supported In this release, setting default values in controls in a Resource Control is not supported except for the option button control. You can work around this problem for a drop-down box by specifying a default value that is not associated with any value to force the user to change the selection. To work around this problem with other controls, you need to use an authorization workflow to supply a default value during submission of the request. Which seems to indicate you can't set a default, except to make 'no selection' the default? I haven't tried what they mentioned, but this seems to indicate the the supported options are limited. You might be able to hack in some JavaScript but that's obviously way unsupported..Frank C. Drewes III - Architect - Oxford Computer Group
