Please do not post the same question in two forums. I have deleted the duplicate you sent to the Programming forum. (My comment on the Move was saying that I had decided to select the Setup/Admin forum rather than the alternative Programming forum. It was NOT a request for you to post a duplicate. Post only ever to ONE forum.) Thanks Stanfford! My scenario is as follows. 1. Have created a number of webparts without specifying the group.2. All these custom webpart defintions [.webpart] files are now part of the WPCatalog folder.3. Now as a clean up, I need to change the groups of these webparts since all these webparts are part of miscellaneous group.4. I do not want to recreate these webparts but can I some how change the group allocation? If the webparts are part of the webpart gallery list, then we can some how change the group by setting the SPFile instance "Group" (spFile.Properties["Group"] = "some group") property of the list item, but how to achieve the same for webparts defined in WPCatalog folder? Thanks again.

Hi Raman, Thanks for updating. It seems like that you want to change the group of web parts in WPCatalog folder. I am afraid there is no good support to configure this property with this folder. If you want to populate the webpart into specified group within Webpart Gallery List, you can consider the following ways; 1. Modify the Group property in Webpart Gallery List with programming 2. Deploy the all webpart with feature. http://claytonj.wordpress.com/2009/01/08/how-to-add-a-webpart-into-a-special-group-other-than-miscellaneous Hope this helps Thanks! Stanfford
