Change Title Column of MOSS 2007 Calendar
Hello all, I was wondering if there was a way to change the Title Column in the SharePoint calendar to a different type? As it is now it is a line of text, I would rather it be a Choice list of all those that are on the sharepoint group

I would suggest not to modify the Title column, instead you can try hidding the Title column and create a new column. Refer to the following post http://social.msdn.microsoft.com/Forums/en/sharepointdevelopment/thread/823c8795-3fbe-450b-8b90-0f172bd4080c--Cheers

thanks for the reply, I guess I should given a bit more info on my problem. I am linking my sharepoint calendar to outlook, the problem is that outlook takes the Title Column as its subject line so I see an empty appointment every time I check my outlook calendar. I was wanting to change the column type to something more useful than line of text

I have not tried this so am not sure it would work, but you can try populating the Title column using maybe a workflow based on any other field that you choose to keep instead of the title in the list. You can keep the title hidden then.

Thats fine, then why are you changing Title column to choice field, you can rename that as Subject right?--Cheers

the reason I want to change Title's column type is that it would be better used as the column we currently use as name. if I can change Title to select the names of those in the team site I will be able to see who makes an appointment in my Outlook calendar than having to always go to the team site.
