Central number enter extension to reach an employee

We have a new install of Skype for Business 2015 and are slowly rolling out Enterprise Voice features.

One of the requests is to provide an external number where our customers can dial and enter an extension DTMF (which they know since it's distributed on business cards, e-mail signatures) to reach someone directly.

I've been looking at response groups, workflows, but haven't quite figured out how to do this. In case it's needed we're using Exchange 2010 SP3 since it appears IVR doesn't have this and UM Auto Attendant needs to be used.

I'd appreciate if someone could point me to a link or two if this desired functionality is even possible.

Hi,

With S4B you don't have DTMF dialin options.

You have to use the Exchangae Auto Attendant for this feature. If you have Exchange UM integrated you can configure a Exch AA with DTMF dialin.

Otherwise you will have to use workflow and responsgroup if you want to use DTFM for end users.In short Workflow is connected to a queue and queue is connected to group.

Ex you setup a workflow with sip: mainswitchboard@domain.com with URI +315555555 and it connects to a queue.This queue can contain one or multiple groups with individual users added to it.

When it comes to UM you should plan accordingly.All mailboxes must have UM enabled

Hi,

Agree with the people above.

If you don't deploy Exchange Server, base on my understanding, you have to set the external number to a receptionist, and then let receptionist to forward the call to the user who own the extension.

Thank you all, such a shame this isn't part of S4B, we currently don't use the UM role and am currently unsure we'll go that route just for this.

I can understand your need.

Maybe you can use a third party tool like the IVR from Audiocodes IVR?
