Hi Dear Dip, Thanks for your prompt reply. Actually we are using the Share Portal 2003 while the above link is related to 2007, so Is there any difference between their commands? And Do these commands have any effects on the other services or parts ? Thanks again. Lily

The 2007 products are default here in the pre-2010 forums and are therefore what is assumed if you don't say which product you have. (Unfortunately people sometimes write SharePoint *Portal* and still mean MOSS 2007 despite the fact that that product doesn't have Portal in its name.) Please always say so if you are asking about SPS 2003 - and preferably also include this info in the Title so people who have never user SPS 2003 need not read your questions. Moderator (pre-2010 forums) P.S. I will add SPS 2003 to the Title SP 2010 "FAQ" (mainly useful links): http://wssv4faq.mindsharp.com/default.aspx WSS3/MOSS FAQ (FAQ and Links) http://wssv3faq.mindsharp.com/default.aspx Both also have links to extensive book lists and to (free) on-line chapters

Hi, According to your description, “Cannot complete this action.” means that the COM layer reported a problem but not a cause. My guess would be that this is a result of corrupted site collection. You might make a backup of your site collection and copy over the out of box one to the same directory name to see if the problem goes away. Here is a link about backup/restoring a site collection in SharePoint 2007,please refer to: http://blah.winsmarts.com/2006-12-Backup-Restore_a_site_collection_in_SharePoint_2007.aspx Best regards David Hu
