Central Admin Security changing from one login to the next
If I RDP to my primary MOSS 2007 server, and I launch Central Admin I cann't get into the User Profiles and Properties section under shared services. However, if my colleague launches the RDP session, and I use my credentials to login to Central admin, I have no problems accessing the User Profiles section under shared services. I deleted my profile on the server and retried and experienced the same issue. This makes absolutely no sense to me. I'm an admin on the server and I have full access to the server. I'm also a farm administrator on the farm. What security setting could possibly make it so that her RDP session allows me to get access while my RDP session, and accessing from my desktop will not? (one hour later) OK, further testing has revealed that only people coming from machines that have the login of my colleage (the primary MOSS administrator) have access to the shared services site for User Profiles. Even though I've confirmed I am a farm administrator, for some reason I can't access this piece. Has anyone run across permissions issues like this before?
