Central Admin Failure
I hope this is the correct forum for this
We are running MOSS 2007 in a small farm configuration
We have had some server issues of late and found that we dont have a SQL backup of Central admin database.
We lost the Central admin content DB and without a backup I am unable to get CA working again
Have tried a few things suggested in other forums without any success.see below
http://www.sharepointassist.com/2009/04/28/central-administration-database-recovery/
Doesnt seem to want to let go of previous db settings.
We may have an older backup but our DBA is away at present so have been able to check - not sure whether an old copy will work or throw up errors
We do have a full STSADM backup of farm but not sure how to restore just the Cental Admin component (if Possible).
Any useful Guidance in getting Central Admin back would be appreciated - I have been Googling but very little useful information has appeared for our particular scenario.
Our Sharepoint sites are all ok - but I want my CA back for obvious reasons

as per my best knowledge its not require to have CA content DB , if you have sites running please take a content DB backup first for any future failure.
Other thing is create a new Central Admin and then create demo sites on which you can attach old site's content DB.
Also you have to manually configure all other settings on Central Admin, this will take some time but your sites will be back again.
