Career Advice
Hi Friends, I am in software as a Java/.Net developer for nearly 9 years working in UK. Also I am certified in SAP XI/PI (Integration services for SAP), got a little experience in it. I recently come across SSIS/SSRS/SSAS tool and found very interesting. I would like to change my career to MS BI. Personally it sounds very interesting and very excited to learn. I need your advice on this. Is it good to shift my career to this side? Are there any good future for this MS BI Tools? Please give your valuable suggestions. Thanks

From my experience I see that there are plenty of jobs for MS BI as full time jobs as well as consultants. I think you need to attend some of good BI courses and then to get first job offer..Best Regards, Uri Dimant SQL Server MVP http://dimantdatabasesolutions.blogspot.com/ http://sqlblog.com/blogs/uri_dimant/

I also see that there are plenty of jobs for MsBI and even Gartner recognizes Microsoft BI as a leader in Business Intelligence: And for people with .net experience, like yourself, SSIS is the most technical tool and probably the easiest to learn. Thanks for your reply. I have just joined the online course. As I am working I cant do the classroom training. Instructor is good and teaching me with examples and real time problems. Do I need to be expert in all SSIS/SSAS/SSRS? Do the companies usually need all the three.? Could you please suggest me any book which explains the concepts with examples and which can help me for certification? Many Thanks

Most of my colleagues are either expert in SSIS or in SSAS/SSRS.Please mark the post as answered if it answers your question | My SSIS Blog: http://microsoft-ssis.blogspot.com
