Capturing a Windows 7 reference image.
I am attempting to capture a default Windows 7 x64 Enterprise wim. This is my first time of using this type of task sequence in SCCM 2007 R2 SP2. I had an issue where it kept failing to install the OS from the source files (Extracted from a DVD and distributed as a system install package). I resolved this by supressing the TS step to apply generic drivers. It has now installed the OS and then failed on the capture image step, despite the error report saying it can access the server share to copy the captured wim too. Here is the error code: prep.exe has marked the OS as generalized for deployment. Boot volume is C:Volume D:\ will not be captured: not a fixed hard drive Volume X:\ will not be captured: not a fixed hard drive Preparing system for capture... Successfully loaded the BCD boot system Connection request for "\\%server%\f$\OSD\WIM Images" Connecting to "\\%server%\f$\OSD\WIM Images" Successfully connected to "\\%server%\f$\OSD\WIM Images" Creating image file \\%server%\f$\OSD\WIM Images\captured m_hImageFile= WIMCreateFile( const_cast<LPWSTR>(m_sImageFileName.c_str()), WIM_GENERIC_WRITE, WIM_CREATE_ALWAYS, 0, WIM_COMPRESS_LZX, NULL), HRESULT=80070005 (e:\nts_sms_fre\sms\framework\tscore\wimfile.cpp,244) ImageFile.Create(sCaptureDestination), HRESULT=80070005 (e:\nts_sms_fre\sms\client\osdeployment\capturesystemimage\capturesystemimage.cpp,883) Finished with error code 0x80070005 Unloading offline SOFTWARE registry hive Unable to create the image file (0x80070005) Unloading offline SYSTEM registry hive Would appreciate any advice/help about this issue.
