Capture image properties questions

Hi,

I just load my first capture image and looking to the properties.

1. Why my image has 1-1 2-2 in the "Select image you want to view"

How may I change the properties?

Why are they 2 images? Which one should I deploy it and how?

How may I edit the properties?

2. Most properties are empty, how may I edit them?

Because the disk you capture add multiple partition.

So the wim is compose of 1:1 witch is probably the 300meg partition windows make

and the 2:2 witch is the remaining.

If you want to remove the index you can use DISM online. But the size will not go down. you would need to remake the wim using dism export to a new wim.

You can follow the info here:http://blog.coretech.dk/mip/clean-up-your-wims/

To edit the properties you can do it in the SCCM console.
You can double click the field and add what you want.

Also make sure that the reference computer your are capturing only has one partition. Just modify the partitioning step accordingly.

HI,

No, I cannot edit the properties from the sccm console. Double-clicking does nothing.

Thanks,

Hi,

OK, I was clicking on the wrong properties...

Why my language is appearing as "Invariant Language (invariant country) on 1-1?

If you are using a build and capture task sequence i suggest you change the volume to only have one partition and apply the OS on it. This would make it at the end you will only have a 1:1

If you are using a your standard deployment task sequence to do the capture manually after. i Suggest you leave it like this and you manually correct the partition before capturing the wim.

Why my language is appearing as "Invariant Language (invariant country)?

The only time i saw this was when issue happen with my capture (corruption of some kind) and SCCM was not able to read the information from the wim.

I add to redo a proper capture.

you should have 1 partition 100% of the remaining space on disk

and apply windows to this one.

Why? Does that really matter? It *might* be possible using dism. Just see which commands are available ..

Using DISM try this:Dism /Export-Image /SourceImageFile:OldFile.wim /SourceIndex:1 /DestinationImageFile:NewFile.wim /DestinationName:"Name you want"

But i can`t guarantee this will work. Like Torsen said i see no point in changing this as the description part in the properties should be enough to know what it is and also the fact that you only have 1 index.
