I have a server where sharepoint service 3 is installed at it,when I try to open central administration,I get the error you are not authorized to view this page

Where are you located when you try this?If you are on the server then it should work always (it sometimes doesn't but typically trying it again after having perhaps woken up the system by accessing the default page a few times it will work).If you are not on the server you need to check if you have made remore access possible and if so if you have set up a Alternate Access Method for the TCP-IP address you are perhaps using for the Central Administration. People sometimes forget to do this for the port number used by CA when they specify AAM for the default site's TCP-IP address.If on the network using server name, the first para should apply. However I've sometimes noticed that (again) waking up the site by accessing it in a different kind of browser (I have used Safari for Windows for this) may have the effect of unblocking IE (which at times seems to decide it can't find perfectly good SP sites) after which a new access via IE will work. 1.Try from another machine2. Check AAM3. In IIS make sure authentication is set properly for the webapp4. Authentication is set properly in CA for web app.5.
