Cannot restore latest production databases
Hi I am trying to restore the latest copy of the content database from prod to dev environment. These are the steps that I followed. 1. Identified the content database from the CA for the production site. 2. Removed the current database from the dev-environment. 3. Restored to a database with Full backup + differential backup (todate) from prod. 4. Reattach the content database. The issue is I am not getting the latest copy of poduction. Is it because I did not restore the config file or may be some other database. Please suggest.

I think we need a little more information about your problem - do you mean that you cannot access the restored site, or that the site still shows "dev" data? If the site is inaccessible, then I have a few suggestions: Ensure your IIS settings (including the site web.config, SSL bindings etc) are consistent with the production environment Ensure the permissions are correct on dev The dev environment must be at least the service pack and hotfix level as the production environment. For example, if your live environment is patched to WSS/MOSS SP2 and your dev environment is running SP1 you will need to update dev. To troubleshoot this, I would recommend checking your SharePoint (ULS) logs. If the site IS accessible but the content is "dev", I would make absolutely sure you are restoring to the correct Web application. HTH.
