We are using WSS 3.0 and have a user who wishes to upload a document that overwrites an existing document of the same name. She has Contribute rights and she ticks the button that says "Overwrite existing files" but it says that the specified file already exists. The only work around she has is to rename or delete the existing document. It is a Document Libruary that is being uploaded to. All versioning and approval options are NOT in use.

Is the existing file checked out to anyone when you are trying to modify? Just a lame suggestion: Try to clear the history & cache and then try.BR, PM
