Cannot launch reporting services
I'm running on Vista Ultimate and I cannot get to log into SSRS. It always gives me the message: User 'Sigma\RayC' does not have required permissions. Verify that sufficient permissions have been granted and Windows User Account Control (UAC) restrictions have been addressed. I opened the SSRS Configuration tool and I click on the Report Manager URL or the Web Service URL and I get the same error. I'm using SSRS 2008 R2. I tried disabling UAC. I looked at the database and I have the Sigma\RayC login mapped to the dbo database user in the database ReportServer$SQL2008. In the Service Account tab I have Network Service selected. What am I doing wrong? Thanks

Hi, You can perform setps mentioned in below URL, if you do not want to disable UAC or do not want run IE as admin every time. http://technet.microsoft.com/en-us/library/bb630430(SQL.100).aspx- Chintak (My Blog)

Do you have yourself as a user in Reporting Services as well? This is different from the database login, it will add an entry for you into the ReportServer.Users table. I think by default local admins are already members of a role with admin rights by default so you could try adding yourself into the local administrators group as well. To get around the UAC you can try running the browser as an administrator as well

I tried all the possible options and I learned that the only option that worked was to turn off UAC on my Vista machine. Once I did that, I finally got Report Manager running. I added my domain account as System Administrator using the Security tab in Report Manager. But as soon as I turn off UAC, I cannot connect to SSRS. How can I connect without having to turn off UAC?

Josh, How can I add myself as a user in Reporting Services? Sorry I'm new to RS. I already tried running the browser as an Adminiatrator but that didn't work, same error message.
