Cannot join a sharepoint server into the farm
Hi,I have installed a sharepoint 2007 enterprise farm with SP2 anf CU of June 2009: KB 970948 and 970946 for WSS and MOSS, now I would like to add an another server in this farm, before i have slipstreamed source with SP2 and CUs of June 2009, but when I run the PSCONFIG UI, he cannot connect the config DB and i have into the ULS logs an unexpected error 1387 Any idea?Thx.MIKE.

Hi Ahmed,I have the same SP and CU versions and the same versions of DLL into the GAC.In the event log, i have just an critical event that says the psconfig is failed no more.MIKE

I run with the setup account, this account have the all necassary rights because i have installed all servers with this account:This account is local admin of each server and he have the securityadmin and dbcreator rights into the SQL server.MIKE

Today I have speaking with a Microsoft Premier Engineer Field during a moss rap, I have told him about this issue and he told me that is cause by the CUs and now the sharepoint config DB is maybe corrupt because the error 1387 in uls logs means this fact...How I can check if really this db is corrupt? Because my farm seems to work fine?MIKE

ok When I run the psconfig I have the followin critical events: Event id 100 and 104Event id 100: Configuration of Sharepoint technologies failed.Event id 104: Failed to connecto the configuration db.Additional exception:1387......MIKE

Hi, Please try this from the new server 1. Open a command prompt window and change to the following directory: %COMMONPROGRAMFILES%\Microsoft Shared\Web server extensions\12\bin 2. I have this version :12.0.0.6510 but with the following patches :KB 970948 and 970946 not with that are specified on your links....MIKE

I think that these two KB has corrupted the config db, anyway to uninstall theses KB or to recreate the config db?MIKE
