Cannot import Dell CAB drivers into SCCM 2012
I am attempting to import Dell E6510 CAB drivers into SCCM 2012 but everyone of them fails except for the ST Micro driver.  Upon completing the import wizard the failure gives the following error:

The selected file is not a valid Windows device driver.

In the DriverCatalog.log on the SCCM server I see the following:

This driver does not have a valid version signature.
Failed to initialize driver digest. Code 0xe0000102

Is there a setting in SCCM to accept unsigned drivers during the import process or something that I am missing?

Any help would be greatly appreciated!

I've just downloaded the latest version and imported the drivers to my lab.

All drivers was imported successfully. (I only tested Windows 7 x64 drivers).

What OS version did you import drivers for?

Ronni:

I am also trying to import the WIN7 x64  --

I used the CAB from the following link: http://en.community.dell.com/techcenter/enterprise-client/w/wiki/2090.latitude-e6510-windows-7-driver-cab.aspx

I extracted the CAB then ran the import from the x64 folder it had created.  The import successfully shows all the drivers I am looking to import but after it runs it ends in failures for EVERY driver except the ST Micro.  I have also attempted to grab single folders such as the audio or video only and get the same result as stated in the original post.

I have not tried CAB's for other models yet but that would be an interesting test that I will post the results of that as soon as I have an opportunity.

**I just tried importing the Optiplex 390 and they all failed; however the Optiplex 380 was completely successful....

Were you successful with the E6510??

Do you have a straightforward install of SCCM 2012?

Yes... I was successful with the E6510, and I've imported lots of other DELL drivers from these cab files at different customers.

I wont be the judge, to tell if my ConfigMgr 2012 installations are "straightforward" or not, but I don't think they are unique... :)

How did you extract the cab files? (I'm using WinRAR).

I used 7-zip for extraction.   i thought maybe using a different utility might be part of it but I had complete success with the 380 CAB using the exact same process....

Have you tried the "Dell Client Integration Pack for MS Configuration Manager 2012" already? It mentions:

Dell continues its commitment in helping you manage Dell Client systems by releasing Dell Client Integration Pack 3.0 (DCIP) for "Microsoft System Center 2012 Configuration Manager".

DCIP allows you to: Easily consume the Driver Packs released by Dell for Optiplex, Latitude & Precision range of systems,

I still think you should try to re-download the driver cab, and extract the file using WinRAR... :)

Copy the driver on local system drive on sccm and then import.

importing drivers from UNC path or map drives generates failures.
