Cannot get SCCM 2007 client installed
+Hello all, I'm totally new to SCCM, I have a fresh install of SCCM 07 SP2 on a 2008 R2 64 bit server. Install seemed to go just fine, rather smooth. If I check the Collections tab under All Systems, all the pc accounts in AD show up. I've ran the following commond at the DOS prompt under an account who is an administrator on the pc \\server name\sms_sitecode\client\ccmsetup.exe /mp=Mgmtpoint smssitecode=sitecode fsp=fallbackstatuspoint After hitting enter, takes a couple seconds, then pc just goes back to dos prompt. If I check the collections tab, under the client tab for this pc...it says,,,client NO. What am I missing? I've tried to right click on pc and choose install client that way as well, tried the Push client wizard. Help, very frustrated. How can I verify on the local pc that the client even installed, any logs, registry entries, does it show up in sys tray, Start Programs....anywhere?

ccmsetup.exe always runs totally silently. Check C:\Windows\System32\ccmsetup\ccmsetup.log for details about whether or not the client installed. Post back what you find. John Marcum | http://myitforum.com/cs2/blogs/jmarcum |

Also realize that collections are not a real-time view into the database. Collections are usually based upon a query which must be rerun to accurately reflect what's in the DB. The default collections are only updated once per day but you can right-click on one and select Update Collection.Jason | http://myitforum.com/cs2/blogs/jsandys | http://blogs.catapultsystems.com/jsandys/default.aspx | Twitter @JasonSandys

When the SCCM client is succesfully installed, it will shows up in the Control Panel as an icon named 'Configuration Manager' and there will be additional icons 'Run Advertised Programs', 'Program Download Monitor', 'Remote Control'. If it is installed on a 64bits OS, the icons will be in the 32bits Control panel.
