Cannot connect to SSAS Cube from Reporting Services 2008
I have two servers server1 and server2. Server1 is running windows server 2008 r2 with sql server 2008r2 and SSRS. server2 is running windows server 2008 r2, sql server 2008r2, SSAS and SSIS. Both are joined to the same domain, Kerberos is not configured. I can create a report on server1 using BIDS that connects to an OLAP Cube on Server2, preview the report from BIDS and deploy the report to SSRS with no issue. When I attempt to run the report from the Reporting services web app I receive this error: "An error has occurred during report processing. (rsProcessingAborted) Cannot create a connection to data source 'ReportDS'. (rsErrorOpeningConnection) The connection either timed out or was lost. Unable to read data from the transport connection: An existing connection was forcibly closed by the remote host. An existing connection was forcibly closed by the remote host" has anyone else received this error in a similar environment, if so what was your solution? Do a connectivity test from the SSRS site to SSAS using SSMS, this seems to me a setup or a security issue.Arthur My Blog

Syed, No such luck on that solution as I am still receiving the same error message. Any other ideas that would come to mind? Thanks,

Hello tthellebuyck, Can you provide the detail error message in the reporting service log files? The default log file is located at: C:\Program Files\Microsoft SQL Server\MSRS10_50.MSSQLSERVER\Reporting Services\LogFiles. Please reproduce this issue and post out the error message of the error. It can provide the call stack of the error and it can make us easier to the troubleshoot this issue. Regards, EdwardEdward Zhu TechNet Community Support
