I'm trying to implement a drill through chart based on this article: http://blogs.msdn.com/b/seanboon/archive/2009/02/09/enabling-drilldown-on-ssrs-reporting-services-2008-charts.aspx I have a region, subregion hierarchy and I'm able to get the chart to drill from region to subregion values. However the labels on the x-axis (category group) do not update properly. They always show region despite my expression. In the category group I have set both the label and "group on" expressions. It seems like I can put anything in the label expression and it is ignored. The horizontal axis is set to axis type category. Any help would be much appreciated, as this is the last issue to wrap up this report.

dbeardsley, If you got expressions in chart label then check that your SmartLabels are disabled for the chart. Also, check the label expression is executing correctly or not. Use, it in a label and check the program flow. Regards, Manoj *Happy to help http://experiencingmsbi.blogspot.com/

Thanks for the good ideas. Sadly I wasn't able to determine why this was happening, but I recreated the chart and then got the desired behavior.
