Cannot Login to SharePoint sites
Hi, I have a problem with a newly installed SP2010. I have installed and configured a SP2010 on my remote development server with a single active directory user ("MYDOM\DEV"). I did that by remote connecting to the development server. Everything went well and I was able to launch CA to add few site collections and subsites. In CA, I can even see "System Account" as the username when I login as "MYDOM\DEV". Now when I tried to log into the CA site from my local desktop machine with the same installation account ("MYDOM\DEV"), it is failing to authenticate. Same thing happens if I try to connect to any other site with the same user account. But the problem is only with this account only. I am able to login to the sites (including CA) using other AD accounts. I believe this is a problem with that specific user account. It was given to me by the AD administrator of my company. Can anyone help me to figure this out? Thanks in advance. Arun D Gangadharan

- Add the CA Site/ all web-app in the trusted zone in browser. - Make changes to the disableloopbackcheck on server. Aniket

Hi Aniket, Thank you for the reply. Tried both, but doesn't work. In fact without these settings i am able to log into the site with other user accounts. The problem is with only one account which I used for installing SP and is the default "System Account". I suspect there is something wrong with the AD account "MYDOM\DEV". Don't know what it is :( Arun D Gangadharan

Hi Aniket, Yes, all belongs to the same AD. I am able to connect to my SharePoint server with remote desktop and from there I can login to the site as my installation account. It just not logging in from my laptop. Arun D Gangadharan

Log out from your laptop and login as MYDOM\DEV and try to access the site. -Verify that the account given to you is not a roaming account. Also add all the site as a trusted site on your browser. what kind of authentication your are using? and what error it throws when you try to access using the admin account.Aniket

I think you need to talk to the AD Admin about this issue. Let him know that you cannot login using that account and ask how this account is different than other accounts. Also get understand from him what type of account he had created. This will be good for you to get knowledge how the accounts are set up.Aniket
