Cannot Export FIM Service - No ResourceManagementService Found!
I've inherited a FIM 2010 solution and am trying to backup the FIM Service config via Powershell, as this seems to be the best way to do it, but I have a fundamental road-block when doing this; I have no site setup at "http://localhost:5725" for the ResourceManagementService. I don't know how this can be, but the only two sites I have configured on the machine that hosts the FIM Portal/Service are: Name: Sharepoint - 80 Binding: :80 (http) Path: C:\inetpub\wwwroot\wss\VirtualDirectories\80 Name: SharePoint Central Administration v3 Binding: :26538 (http) Path: C:\inetpub\wwwroot\wss\VirtualDirectories\26538 Photo: http://s751.photobucket.com/albums/xx153/jayadair_photos/?action=view&current=iiscrop.jpg Does anyone know why I might not have this site/service setup, or know of another way for me to export my FIM Service configuration? I need to get a new lab built-up with our work from this lab asap.

when u use powershell, u aren't talking to the FIMPortal (but FIMService instead). If you see a problem using/running Config Migration tool, u should post the actual error hereThe FIM Password Reset Blog http://blogs.technet.com/aho/

Oh right, I was expecting it to be an IIS-hosted WCF service, but of course it's hosted within the service. Thank-you. I tried this in another lab and that had errors, hence me writing this, but on trying it on another lab that is less developed but still has the config info I need, it works, so basically ignore this post!
