Cannot Deploy SSIS2008 Package to a Remote SQL2008 Server
Hi, I made an SSIS Package using the BIDS 2008 on my local machine, and now I want to Deploy it to a Remote SQL2008 Server. I created a Deployment Utility for this. I have a SSISPackageManifest file to deploy. But On Deploying, I get an Error Like : ------------------------------ Storing or modifying packages in SQL Server requires the SSIS runtime and database to be the same version. Storing packages in earlier versions is not supported. ----------------------------- On checking the Properties of DTSInstall.exe in the SQL 2008 Directories, it shows that it is a SQL2005 Integration Services Installation Utility.. Should it be SQL2008 Utility to do the deployment?? I have SQL2005, and SQL2008 installed Side by Side... Can anyone help me out with this?

I think you are using the wrong DTSInstall exe. Per below thread , 2008 utility only should be used. http://connect.microsoft.com/SQLServer/feedback/details/354981/issues-deploying-ssis-pkg-to-sql-server-2005-from-a-box-w-both-sql-2005-and-2008 2008 toolset are in %PROGRAMFILES%\Microsoft SQL Server\100\DTS\Binn 2005 toolset are in %PROGRAMFILES%\Microsoft SQL Server\90\DTS\Binn Check above thread for more details.

Oh yes, that can happen, I remember that happened to me too back then. I guess u must have installed first installed Sql Server 2008 and then SQL sever 2005. You might have to install SQL Server 2008 again. Rahul Kumar, MCTS, India, http://sqlserversolutions.blogspot.com/

Check your PATH environment variable in your computer system properties, make sure the 2008 path is before the 2005 one. or run '%PROGRAMFILES%\Microsoft SQL Server\100\DTS\Binn\DTSinstall.exe'If you think my suggestion is useful, please rate it as helpful.
