Cannot Create Inbound Synchronization Rule
Hey everyone, I am experiencing and issue where I cannot create an Inbound Synchronization Rule. On the scope tab of the wizard, where it asks you to select “Metaverse Object Type” and “Connected System”, the drop down boxes are blank. Here is what I have done: · I have dropped and recreated the FIM MA twice and verified that its reference to the portal and server are accurate · I have verified that the FIM Service account is a member of the FIMSyncAdmin group · I have enabled all the proper MRPs as prescribed in the “Introduction to Inbound Synchronization” document · I have verified that the “Enable Synchronization Provisioning” check box is selected. At this point, I am at a loss and in front of the customer. Any idea? Erich Karch Senior Consultant | Microsoft Services Team Microsoft Corporation

There is a commonly known issue that has been reported several times on this forum. Make sure that FIM Sync and FIM Sync Service are on the same patch level! In other words, install - if necessary - the most recent updates for the synchronization and the FIM service. Cheers, MarkusMarkus Vilcinskas, Knowledge Engineer, Microsoft Corporation

I confirmed that indeed the Sync server and Service servers versions were out of alignment. Unfortunately, I was unable to patch the portal server, so I am now rebuilding it. More later.
