Can you replace a photo with another photo in SharePoint 2007?
Currently, we have staff photos in a SharePoint (MOSS 2007) picture library. But as some of the photos get old, I need to be able to replace them. Is it possible to replace an old photo with a new one, without losing the data entered into the columns (metadata)? I'm not looking for any Active Directory links to SharePoint just yet. I'm just looking for a way to replace the photos at this point. Any ideas? I'm open to even restructuring the way it is set up, if it can help. Thanks for any help you can provide!

Hi Stacy, When you will replace old photo with new one it will create a new ID though you can upload the new photo with same name. So in metadata if you had mapped property with ID name it will remain same but definitely property mapped with ID will be changed.Warm Regards, Pratik Vyas | SharePoint Consultant | http://sharepointpratik.blogspot.com/

Hi, You can carry this out in an alternative way. You can create a document library and there you can upload your images with metadata. When you are replacing them you can go for upload an image with same name by selecting an option of creating new version. I hope this will help you out. Thanks, Rahul Rashu
