Can the parameter section of the Report Viewer be changed to a default to display contracted?
Using rc:Parameters=false I can control whether or not the parameter section of the Report Viewer displays when a report is run. If I specify rc:Parameters=true (which is the default) the parameter section displays and I notice that there is a little arrow control at the bottom of the parameter secton that allows me to contract/expand that section...essentially allowing the user to control whether or not it displays after the report runs. What I would ideally like to do is to have the Parameter section in the report when I run it, but contracted, similar to the user having clicked on that arrow control....that way when it first runs, the user doesn't see it, but if they want to see it they can. Is there any way to do this? Thanks!

Hi NElliott01, According to your description, you would like to contract the parameter pane by default when running the report, but user can expand the parameter pane by clicking on the arrow control, right? If that’s the case, it is impossible to get in reporting services. I suspect that if we want to change the behavior of the parameter pane, we should get all the source code of the report manager, and then change it by programming. Anyway, I would suggest you submit a feedback at http://connect.microsoft.com. Connect site is a connection point between you and Microsoft, and ultimately the larger community. Your feedback enables Microsoft to make software and services the best that they can be, and you can learn about and contribute to exciting projects. Appreciate your understanding. Thanks, Eileen
