Can sign into Windows but not SharePoint
I can log onto windows (which tells me my active directory is working) but when I try to access any Sharepoint portal or site I get(The server could not sign you in. Make sure your user name and password are correct, and then try again.) This doesnt sound like access restriction it sounds like it doesnt have me setup as a user. I am the "Farm Admin" but do I have to create a user account anywere or refresh the user list or anything? Shouldnt SharePoint read from windows active directory?

Well, Farm admin in MOSS 2007 doesnt give you admin or even read previliges on the content even if you are Farm admin. You can either add yourself to site collection admin through central administration and access the site. or You can add yourself to the Policy for web application and give yourself previliges on the web app level which overwrites any other permission on the site collection or the site or the list level. In operations tab you can find it and yourself technically, incase you are authorized to do that in the regulatory world :). Thanks!I LOVE MS.....
