Can not add AD group to sharepoint group
Hi, I am not able to add AD User group to sharepoint group. Also i have AD Group as nested so when i directly adding this AD Group in sharepoint, users getting access denied. Kindly help me. Regards, Hari

My first guess would be that the AD group is a distribution group. In order for it to be added to SharePoint, it must be a security group. Hari, IF this AD group is a disctribution list, you cannot add it to sharepoint security group. You can view the groups preferences using Active Directory.Regards, Kapil

Hi , Thanks for your info. My problem was i havn't imported Groups from AD to sharepoint itself so now i have imported all groups to SSP. Now profile sync timer jobs got executed. But still i am not getting those new User Groups in people picker but the same is dislayed in SSP User profile. Kindly help me. Regards, Thiru

Check the following settings on the SSP: (1) You need to open SSP(Shared Service provider) (2) Click on User Profiles and Properties (3) Click on View Import Connections (4) Check your Domain name and Start Full Import option. Regards, Kapil

Hi Kapil, Yesterday i have imported all User Groups to sharepoint. I can able to see those User Groups in SPP->View user profile. But till now i am not able to get those GROUPS in People picker, i need to assign Read permission to a Group in Document Library. I have read in article that Profile Sync & Quick profile sync timer job should be executed to sync the user profile with User Information List but no use till now timer job execute more times & today mornign i have restarted my App Server also.
