Can not add AD group to audience
Hi, When trying to add an AD group to an audience the people picker gives an error that says: "No exact match found" However the AD group does indeed exist and it is not an issue with the name being wrong...The AD group was made by copying a group which does resolve in the people picker... This is a medium MOSS standard install. Any ideas? Thanks, Steve

Hi there, Apologies. Yes its a pity I couldn't get a screenshot of this one. Ok, lets see. I take it that you are adding the group using domain\adgroup format, and that when the name is not resolved that when clicking on the RED squiggle under the name that no AD groups are being listed? Also, is the AD group definately a security group and is not a distribution list - Distribution Lists are not supported. Finally People Picker is known to return 'no Exact Match' if the AD groups name is not typed in exactly as named. What happens when you try adding that group anywhere else - i.e. another site? Hi in the past I have simmilar issue with adding just simple user to the site. For some reason I coudn't add user from AD thru central administration, but I could add it from particular site->site setting->.... In the end reason of that was the account which was hosting my central administration (local desktop account) and particular web application (this was hosted by domain account). So... some idea to check is : if account used to host your SSP is able to retrive this group from AD. The simplest check could by to try add the same group you already have in audience definition. If it's not working, then you have "permission" issue around your ssp hosting account. Otherwise - this is something diffrent Mariusz, Gorzoch

Man o Man, this issue is everywhere on the Internet, does anyone have a solution????? 1. Creat Global or Universal (doesn't matter) Security Group in AD 2. Create new Audience in SSP 3. Add rule to Audience:a. Userb. Member Ofc. AD Security Group will not resolve in People Picker!, usernames will resolve. The same newly created AD Security group I am trying to add will resolve in every other people picker through-out Sharepoint EXCEPT in anything to do with an audienceI have done the following: 1. Added the admin account to the group and logged in with that - no 2. Added the new security group to the top level site as well as the SSP Admin site with 'Contribute' permissions - no 3. restarted the SSP App Pool - no 4. Done a Full Crawl (as suggested by someone here I think) - no Here's what I have: Sharepoint MOSS 2007 Standard Ed. Windows 2008 SP1 SQL Server 2008 and a very frustrated admin. I am getting really sick of hitting these tiny little road blocks with Sharepoint every step I take. Does anyone have anything relevant and useful to contribute to this? Obviously from the looks of Google results on this I am not the only one with this issue and there is a problem here. Will someone from MS step in here and shed some light?
