Can anyone tell me the permissions needed by the service account to be able to create an Orchestrator database.

Hi,

I'm installing orchestrator a machine. At the configure the database step the option to create a new database disabled.

I have given my orchestrator service account db_Creator role access but still that option is disabled.

Can anyone tell me the permissions needed?

Hi,

the option to create a new database is disabled in Orchestrator setup for (additional) setup of Runbook Server or Web service. If you setup Runbook Server or Web service you must connect to an existing database.

The database is created while installing Management Server. To setup Management Server you must select install.

If you setup Management Server with sysadm rights for the SQL Server instance the roles and permissions are created automatically, details here: https://technet.microsoft.com/en-us/library/hh912315.aspx

Hi Stefan,

Im doing a new installation of orchestrator so I want a new database but Im not getting the option to create a new database. The service account has dbcreator permission but still the option is disabled. Can you tell me other permissions I can give to the service account in ther sql server. The sql server(database) is in a remote machine.

Hi Vineet,

you must select "Install" to install a Management Server which creates a new Database.

The screenshot you provided above is if you have selected "Orchestration Console and Web Service" or "Runbook Server".
