Can anyone confirm my Designer workflow auto-approve finding?

Hi,

My aim was to auto-approve a task, created by a list item workflow, after 2 days.

The main list item workflow creates a separate task in a workflow task list, on which I create a secondary workflow that starts on creation and pauses for a duration of 2 days, so far so good.

However, the answer to this msdn forum post suggests that you can update the Outcome field against the task to mark as approved. I have found that the default Outcome field is not available to be updated in SharePoint Designer, can anyone else confirm this is the same for them?

I have tried this with both the 2013 and 2010 workflow engines.

Thanks

Hi MrPack,

If we use 2010 workflow to create the tasks, the Outcome  field of current task is not available in Set Field in Current Item action.

I recommend you to use SharePoint 2013 workflow instead and use Start a task process action to create the tasks, and then use Set field in current item action to update the current Outcomes value with SharePoint 2010 workflow.

Here is my screenshot of auto-approve workflow for your reference:
