Can a Primary be seperated from a CAS to stand alone?

I have an infrastructure that has a single Primary Site Server and a CAS server.  After 3 1/2 weeks of downtime due to SQL replication (it is still down), I have decided to abandon the CAS server.  I am currently looking to uninstall SCCM entirely and the rebuild with just the Primary.  Before I do that, I wanted to see if anyone knew if there was a way to eliminate the CAS without having to rebuild the entire infrastructure.

Thanks in advance

Hi,

CAS is not really recommended if your total clients are not more then 100,000+.

To answer your question, no there is no way to remove the CAS. You will reinstall the primary server.

I echo Garth. More details about how to uninstall How to Uninstall CAS Primary Secondary server here.

However, Peter Daalmans has found some way to get rid of CAS. here

Hi,

As Garth writes, no you cannot get rid of it. You can however use the new feature in ConfigMgr 2012 Sp1 and migrate from the CAS to a standalone Primary Site server.
