Can Selected Items On DocumentMap be Captured as Parameters?
I have setup a report in ssrs2005 which has a documentMap for drilldown and a subreport included on the form. I am trying to capture the value of the selected item in the documentMap and pass it as a parameter to my subReport. I know I can map the parameters
of my main report to the subreport and can also jump to another report outside the scope of my main report, but I would like to use the DocumentMap to do this using a SubReport instead.
Is this possible in SSRS2005?

Hi mindscape777,
Thanks for your question. Based on your description, I understand you would like this:
when you clicked on the Document Map’s item, the item can action to a sub report and pass on the item’s value as the parameter, right? If I misunderstand your question, please let me know.
Actually, the Document Map just one bookmarks for each instance in a group and display this list of bookmark next to the report, in effect, this
list of bookmarks is a table of contents for the report that enables the user not only to see the group instances at a glance, but also to jump to the location of a specific instance, so it is hard to action to a sub report.
For this limitation of Document Map, I would recommend you to submit a wish to Microsoft Connect at this link:

Every feedback submitted will be evaluated carefully by our engineers. They will let you know their comments further through that portal. It would be great if you can also paste the link to the submitted feedback

Hope it helps you. If you have any other question, please feel free to let me know.
Thanks,
