Can I use a calculated column to string text together?
Hi All,I have a list which has two columns. The first column is titled "First Name" and the 2nd column is "Last Name". I want to create a calculated column which displays [First Name] + [Last Name]. I tried entering the following into the Formula box, but I just receive a #VALUE! error:
=[First Name] + " " + [Last Name]
I imagine that this is not working because the calculated field assumes that it will be working with numbers/dates. Can I use it to string together this text?

Perfect. Thanks!I just came across a great article which confirms this and also other ways to use the formulas. In case anyone else runs into a problem with writing the formulas, please refer to http://msdn.microsoft.com/en-us/library/bb862071.aspx
