Can I replicate a part of wss 3.0 with SQL standard to a wss 3.0 with SQL express server in another DMZ?
My customer already have a WSS 3.0 server with SQL 2005 standard. He would like to replicate a small part of the Sharepoint, once a day to another server in a DMZ. This server would have WSS 3.0 and SQL Express. It's it possible and would it be Sharepoint
that will do the replication or SQL?
Thanks

SharePoint provides no replication functions even if they were to go to an identical system.FAQ sites: (SP 2010) http://wssv4faq.mindsharp.com; (v3)

SQL Express is free - and therefore has plenty of caveats - however if you can use SQL Standard, you will be able to setup SQL log shipping - which potentially will provide you with a similar farm (aka SharePoint Recovery Farm).

Could you please let us know more about what this small part of SharePoint is? How will the server in DMZ be used?
You can use content deployment to transfer documents between farms :
