Can I downgrade to 8.1 then upgrade to 10 later on?
I'm currently having a lot of issues with Windows 10. Specifically, the OS doesn't comply with my drivers even though I've updated them all. Is there a way that I can downgrade to Windows 8.1, then upgrade back to Windows 10 later on still for free?

Hi BlaineG92,

Windows 10 free upgrade is only available for one year after release.

If we upgraded to Windows 10 is only within 28 days, then it is available for us to rollback to Windows 8.1.

The rollback action would need the Windows.old folder, which is hidden by default, and after 28 days, this folder would be deleted by the system itself.

So if we meet the requirements, then please go to Settings/Update and Security/Recovery, there would be Go back to previous builds available there, click the option and follow the wizard.

If the upgrade time is greater that 28 days, then the available ways to go back to Windows 8.1 is to perform a clean install.
