Can FIM export to AD Security Group memberships of custom FIM objects?
For a custom object (say computer) can FIM2010 export the membership of the Security Group containing the custom object to AD?Is there any configuration specific to custom objects for export? Users and nested security groups export OK.Thanks,AB

As long as the objects meet the requirements of the related objects in AD, it works. If something doesn't work as expected, you might want to take a look at a sample member in AD by using LDP.Cheers,MarkusMarkus Vilcinskas, Knowledge Engineer, Microsoft Corporation

Thanks Markus, Would the attributes of the computer make a difference even if the computer is itself not being exported - having been earlier imported from AD. Only a Security Groups containing member reference to the computer is being exported. The same AD MA is used for the computer import and the group export.env: FIM2010 RC1 Update 3.Cheers,AB

AB,as long as you have a valid reference (member has to point to an existing object), which seems to be the case in your scenario, you are good. Please see About Reference Attributes for more details.Cheers,Markus Markus Vilcinskas, Knowledge Engineer, Microsoft Corporation
