Can't use SharePoint dropdown menus
I am a SharePoint user and I am unable to use the dropdown menu items for documents. I can see the dropdown choices(Properties, Edit Properties, Alert Me, etc), but when I click them, nothing happens. I can no longer switch to Explorer View. I can click on the New, Upload, or Actions buttons and they work, but if I try to drop them down, I can't select any of the sub items. And SharePoints load EXTREMELY slow. I'm taking 4 or 5 minutes between each thing I click! I am using IE7 and all of this used to work fine. It happens on SharePoints that are located on my company network as well as those outside of my company network. I tried re-installing IE7, I tried downgrading to IE6, nothing helps. If I use Firefox, the pages load quickly, and I can access most of the items in the dropdowns without a problem. Some of them, like Explorer View, give me an error that says that Firefox can't interact with Windows Explorer. Does anyone have any ideas that I can try to fix my IE? Thanks!

I think the problem is you are not having the permissions on the site or on particular document library , list which you are trying to access it. Just check the what level of permission you are having. Loading problem means You need to contact your Administrator he can resolve it easily as we don't now the server Ram and what is the content of page which you want to open. Let me know If you still have the problem.SPsRocks

Did you try this in IE browser from some other PC ? Could you try adding the site address to the trusted zone or intranet zones with a low security level Also Refer the following link http://support.microsoft.com/kb/308260--Cheers

If it was a permissions thing, you'd not see the options that you've mentioned in your opening post, so unless you, or someone else have been working on those, it's not likely to be those. The items you mention are javascript enabled, so it might be worth trying Prasath's trick, or talking to those responsible for your standard software build to see what securities they've set for your instance of explorer. Additionally, have you been doing any form customisation at all, with JQuery, SPServices or whatnot? Sometimes, a lot of client side processing can really show down the responsiveness of the browser. Hi, I have the exact same problem and it is not a permission issue. Have you been able to find the solution? I could use the PC of my colleague and use the drop down on his computer without any problems. I've tried clearing the cache but still no luck. Any help is appreciated. Thanks Martin
