Can't start the Dec CU for SharePoint 2013 Server

Hello,

I am trying to run the SharePoint Server 2013 KB2850024 cumulative update to upgrade to 15.0.4551.1511, but the the installer says it fails and does not continue.  Message says:

"The installation of this package failed. "  

The Dec 2013 CU is split into to files, one is 1.7 GB is size and the other is smaller. Which one to run first?

How to get the installation to continue?

I have the Oct 2013 CU installed successfully.

I am running the Dec 2013 now. I had to place the .cab file on the same folder as the .exe. Then, the installation started correct.
