Can't see new resourcetype in Sync Engine
Hi All,I am currently having difficulty getting a newly created ResourceType (and associated attributes)to appear in the FIM Management Agent (SelectObject Types page)within the Synchronisation Engine.I have created a new ResourceType within the FIM Portal Schema and added a couple of attributes, and Iam able to create resources using the new type within the portal. I have added an MPR to allow the Sync Engine access to the resources. Is there anything else that I need to do? Can't seem to get the new resource type to appear in the MA.ThanksChris

Hi...In the Synchronization Engine you have an option to "Refresh Schema"... This step will bring to your MA any change thatwas made in the schema from FIM portal.[]sPaulo

Hi Paulo,Have tried this alreadyand the additional attributes that I have added to the 'person' resourceType are available, however the newresourceTypethat has been created with its own set of attributes is not. Is this something that should just 'happen' once you have refreshed the schema on the FIM MA or doI need to perform more configuration in the portal? Have you managed to get this to work?Cheers,Chris

All, Have got a resolution to this one with a little reverse engineering - can't seem to see it documented anywhere?? - Please let me know if it is and if I have missed it (wouldn't be suprised :).. Anyway the answer to the question is..that you need to add the new resource type e.g. location, or role, etc..in to the 'Synchronize ObjectTypeDescription' attribute in'Synchronization Filter' resource type. This then makes the object available in the Sync Engine. Thanks Chris

...you need to add the new resource type e.g. location, or role, etc..in to the 'Synchronize ObjectTypeDescription' attribute in'Synchronization Filter' resource type. Absolutely correct. After you add the ObjectTypeDescription and refresh the FIM MA schema then the custom resource type and attributes will be available. I've opened a TODO to track adding this to the IT Pro docs. Currently I only see a reference in Nima's blog.
