Can't login in App Controller
Hello.
I've installed App Controller and when I tried to login via IE all is ok. But if anyone have tried to use other browser (Firefox or Chrome) there are following error:
"The credentials that were used to connect did not work. Verify the credentials and sign in again. If the problem persists, contact your administrator"
I've tried to export/import certificates, but it doesn't help.
What it can be?
Thanks in advance.

Hi enzorik,
Are you using a self-signed certificate for the App Controller website? If so, this note in section 7 of the install guide likely applies:
http://technet.microsoft.com/en-us/library/gg696046.aspx
Note |
To add or configure server certificates, use the Server Certificates feature in IIS Manager.
If you use a self-signed certificate, the certificate must be added to the Trusted Root Certification Authorities store of all computers that will access the App Controller website. Some browsers will fail to display App Controller if the certificate is
not trusted. It is recommended that you use a certificate from a trusted certification authority instead of using a self-signed certificate.
Kind Regards,
Richard

Hi Richard,
Thank you for replay.
I've tried to use self-signed certificate but it doesn't help. Also I added this certificate to the
Trusted Root Certification Authorities store on test pc, then into App Controller server but without any results.

Hi enzorik,
If you have a certificate that is not self-signed, then this should resolve the issue.
For testing purposes, when using a self-signed certificate, ensure that you are accessing App Controller with the FQDN of the web server.
e.g. https://server.contoso.com
and not https://server/
If the certificate is installed correctly on your test PC and you are using the FQDN, then the browser should not report an certificate error.
Kind Regards,
Richard

Hello Richard,
Sorry for delay. Actually when I've used non self-signed certificate the situation is same. And of course I use FQDN in all cases.
If using http (80 port) from other browser, you can connect without any problems. It seems that for secure connection you can use only IE...

Also I've tried
establish a connection with an App Controller server via PowerShell.
But I have received this error. After googling and playing with certificates the situation is the same.

Did anyone figure this out? I just did an App Controller install and cannot login with my domain admin account. I can't fathom that SSL is the issue, I was presented with a login page which implies it has no issues with SSL.

Hi enzorik,
In the example output you show above, you are not saving the credentials into the $Credentials variable.
PS C:\> $Credentials = Get-Credential
PS C:\> Get-SCACServer -ServerName "https://AppControllerSvr01.Contoso.com" -Credential $Credentials
This will prevent you from successfully authenticating with the App Controller server (unless you've already enabled single sign on).
You mention that you are able to connect using port 80 for other browsers. Have you changed the default configuration to allow connections on port 80? By default App Controller only accepts SSL connections.
Kind Regards,
Richard

Hi Richard,
Thank you, I realy have done mistake with saving credentials. I repeated this procedure correctly, but result is the same.
As for opportunity to connect using port 80: some users likes use "http://..." by default. That why I configured automatic redirect from http to https.
I have no idea what it can be.

Has anyone managed to find a solution for this issue? I am facing it too.

I am facing the same problem: "The credentials that were used to connect did not work."
Does not work from any browser.
The IIS logfile is full of 500 errors:
2013-04-12 14:04:01 ::1 GET /api/CloudSystems - 443 - ::1 Mozilla/4.0+(compatible;+MSIE+7.0;+Windows+NT+6.2;+WOW64;+Trident/6.0;+.NET4.0E;+.NET4.0C;+.NET+CLR+3.5.30729;+.NET+CLR+2.0.50727;+.NET+CLR+3.0.30729)
https://jtb-gebaac.jatoba.local/ClientBin/1.0.0.3/UI.Shell.xap 500 19 33 0
get-scacserver also fails:
Credentials are domain admin credentials.
AppController website uses a certificate from an internal CA and is fully trusted. All AppController updates have been installed (update rollups 1 and 2 for sp1).
Anyone?

I had the exact same problem. I was unable to login using Firefox and Chrome
The solution for me was to RDP to the server and go to https://localhost IN INTERNET EXPLORER => :( :(. Allthrough I turned on the compability view, the actual solution probably is just using Internet explorer.

I have exactly the same issue with Chrome and Firefox. I think it should be a bug with App Controller 2012 R2.

Any working on this? I am having the same issue. 500 errors on /ClientBin/1.1.2.0/UI.Shell.xap.
