Can't install Service Pack 3 for SQL Server 2005 Reporting Services
I just installed a stand-alone SQL Server 2005 reporting services on a 64-bit Server 2008 machine without receiving any errors. I have not configured reporting services yet, but I'd like to patch it with Service pack 3. However, when I execute Service Pack 3, it won't let me check the box for reporting services. I've rebooted, etc. The database is not installed on this server, just reporting services. I have performed many searches, but I have not seen anyone with a similar problem. What can I do so that it allows me to check the box during service pack installation? --Max

Hi Max, Here are some suggestions for you to troubleshoot it: 1. What's the bit version of reporting services 2005? 2. Ensure that you have installed IIS 6 Management Capability for the IIS 7.0. See http://support.microsoft.com/kb/938245 for more details on how to install it. 3. Ensure that you download the correct services pack 3. Give us its full name so that we can help to check it. If the issue persists, i would suggest you configure reporting services after step2, then try to install the pack to see if it works. please feel free to let me know more questions. thanks, Jerry
