Can't find AD security group while creating Audience rule
Hi guys,
I'm trying to create audience rule : all members of AD group. But when I try to choose a security group I need I can't find in search window. Though I see another groups. So in a whole the problem is I can't see all the AD groups but only some of them. It
doesn't depends on on its type (global or local domain).
What could be a reason?

This is a normal situation - normal AD groups can be used in SharePoint but AD lists can't (I haven't got the terminology right I know but no doubt your security group belongs to what I call an AD list).
I.e. I doubt if it has anything to do with creating an audience rule, it is a general restriction.
Later: What I meant was ' AD distribution lists' - some posts seem to think that security groups are not distribution lists though which would mean that this might well be a audience restriction.

I have this same issue,
odd thing is it see old groups and so one but it almost seems like the database is not getting updated with new group membership information, any changes i make with groups or any new groups I make do not show up , when I compile or after a full import.

Hi ,
Only AD security groups can be imported to sharepoint and u can't import distribution group.
So kindly check whether the group you are searching for is security or distribution.

So you now have your user filter as show below in your profile import connection?
(|(objectCategory=Person)(objectClass=User)( objectClass=Group))
and then followed the steps in my post?
and are you using security groups or distibution groups?
