Hi, Users are unable to edit documents in Sharepoint sites (Sharepoint portal server 2003). Documents opening only in read only mode and not able to edit. We found an work around for this issue, that is running Office diagnostic tool on the affected computer can fix this issue. But we have more than 2000 users in our environment and I need to know do we have any fix for this issue which can be done through a change and resolve this in one shot. Thanks Steven, we are having problem in editing any type of office documents and across all versions. Also,we recently upgraded to Internet explorer 8 version and we see this issue occurs only after that. Before that we were able to edit the documents without any issues. Below is the error message when we check out and checkin the documents in our SPS 2003 sites - "This document was checked out to your local drafts folder but the local copy could not be checked in to the site. Close any application that is editing the document and try to check in again, or discard the checkout" appears, and the file is _not_ updated". We need to find some permanent fix for this issue rather running office diagnostic tool one each computer. Any help would be greatly appreciated.
