Hi!

I'm using SharePoint 2013 Enterprise. I'm the administrator of a site collection Enterprise Search Center template, and also administrator of a site collection Group Site template.

I'm trying to create a SharePoint directory following this tutorial sharepointconfig.com/2013/05/how-to-create-a-simple-sharepoint-2013-people-directory/ but I get stuck on step 4, where I'm guessing I should edit the page that I just created. When I click edit page, the "Loading..." box is staying forever and never goes to the edit page. That doesn't happend with pages in the Group Site template.

I already checked if publishing features are activated in site collection features and site features.

As I understand, you did as the tutorial to create a SharePoint directory. After creating the Search People page, you wanted to edit it but it kept loading.

First, please make sure you did exactly what the tutorial request. If you missed something, please try again.

If the issue still exists, I think there are several causes:

• Check if Search Service and User Profile Service application are working properly.

• Check if servers associated to Search Service and User Profile Service application are started.

• Check if State Service and Session State is provisioned and running.

• Check if there are any unexpected errors in ULS when the issue happening.

Hello Aaren!

I did the tutorial once again and I have the same issue: Can't edit the page after I created. I can't even edit the principal page in a Enterprise Search Center template.

I've checked everything you told me to check:

• First 2 are working properly and started.
• Don't know how to check State Service, if is a Windows server service, it doesn't appear in "Services"
• Logs says a time exception error (because page keep loading)

Hi Niko,

As state service, it is a Service Application, you said you didnt have one. You can create one using Configuration Wizard:

Go to central administration> configuration wizards> Launch the Farm Configuration Wizard> start the wizard> make sure the State Service is chosen.

And you can try again with other browsers to see whether the issue still exists.

Or you can restart the web application in the IIS.

If these still dont work, please check error message of ULS log to determine the exact cause of the error. ULS log is at:      

C:\Program Files\Common Files\Microsoft Shared\Web Server Extensions\15\LOGSBesides
