Can't create ForEachLoop Container in ControlFlow tab
When I drag the ForEachLoop Container icon onto the design surface of the ControlFlow tab (as stated in the tutorial) , nothing happens - the design surface remains unwriteable ( the icon remains as circle with a diagonal line through it.) If I drag an "Execute SQL Task" onto the design surface first , the behaviour is changed slightly ; the icon changes to two squares , one of them with a cross in it, but the ForEachLoop Container is still not created. Please assist

Hello David, FYI: you created the wrong type of the post, naturally, the answerers did not visit it. What I understood, you have just started exploring SSIS (after a fresh install) and the designer surface does not work as expected. Is that true for just these two components or any other else? Tell us: after you dragged say the ForEach Loop container, if you then click on the canvas's background and right-click on the container's body, would it display a menu to you? If that does not work I would suspect your installation went wrong somehow. Have the SQL Server client tools including BIDS reinstalled then.Arthur My Blog
