Can't connect to the Report Manger page
Hi Bill, Thanks for the reply. But I think you misread a part of my question, in fact, I could connect the Report Manager page via locahost only not the computer's name. Any other thoughts? Thanks,Joe

Hi Joe.C, Thanks for your reminding. Basically, you can use your computer’s name to construct the Report manager URL in the same way. You can just type in your computer name instead of localhost as Host Header Name. Thanks, Bill LuPlease remember to mark the replies as answers if they help and unmark them if they provide no help.

Hi Joe, Thanks for your post. According to your description, you couldn’t use URL http://localhost/reports/pages/folder.aspx to open the report Manger Page, that’s due to the reporting service use the computer name to construct the Report Manager Default access URL when it was initialized. If you preferred to use localhost URL to access your report manager page, I would suggest you to use localhost to specify an additional URL as report manager URL. More detailed illustration, Please refer to the steps below: 1. Open the Reporting Services Configuration Manager. 2. Switch to Report Manger URL. 3. Click Advanced. 4. Click Add button in the Multiple Identities for Report Manager Area. 5. Check the Host Header Name item, type in localhost. 6. Click ok twice. After you complete the steps above, the new added report manager URL will appear below the origin URL link, you can click it to verify whether it works as you expected. More information about How to: Configure a URL (Reporting Services Configuration), please refer to the link below: http://technet.microsoft.com/en-us/library/bb630447.aspx If you have anything unclear, please feel free to let me know. Hello Joe, Only SSRS 2005 requires IIS, SSRS 2008 and higher versions do have there own HTTP.SYS. Try to open http://localhost/reportserver that's the Report Manager URL.Olaf Helper * cogito ergo sum * errare humanum est * quote erat demonstrandum * Wenn ich denke, ist das ein Fehler und das beweise ich tglich Blog Xing

I've already added the site to the trusted site and grant the permission to my NT account.' Any suggestion? p.s.I noticed that there is no IIS at the server where I installed the SSRS, will this be an issue? Thanks, Joe
