Calendar Printing Assistant for Outlook 2007 and SharePoint Calendars
I have setup some SharePoint 2007 calendars as part of a diary system. As the users open the calendars in Outlook 2007 anyway, we thought it simplest that those who needed a nice looking hard copy made use of the Calendar Printing Assistant. The problem is that the Assistant cannot use the SharePoint calendars on all computers bar one. The Assistant can see the calendars and allows them to be selected for use. However, instead of a tick box there is a red circle containg an x. If you click on the icon you get the following message repeated twice: "Cannot retrieve events from folder [Calendar name]. Original Microsoft Office Outlook 2007 error message: 263040" On one computer there are no problems. We cannot see any differences in setup. We have tried running fixmapi.exe and switched Outlook cahing on and off. There are no problems using using other personal or shared calendars Has anybody come across this before?

We still have not found the cause, but so far it looks like the problem occours after a system gets updated with some patches pushed out by the support team.

We still don't have a fix. Our ICT team is suspecting there are problems with new versions of the .NET framework.

One of my techs has had mixed results that I cannot duplicate with removing all .net and installing just .net 3.0 with no service packs. So i aggree it seems to be somthing with .net Please Please let me know if you figure anything more out.David

We still have no explanation to the problem; however, on PCs using Windows 7, CPAO has started working again (not so on XP platform).

Has there been any progress made on this issue for either of you? I am experiencing the same problem after my PC motherboard fried and I have been set up with a new laptop. PCA was working fine for me with Windows XP SP3 and Outlook 2007 using the CPA that was released 7/1/2010 by Microsoft, but now it is not. I have multiple calendars and task lists which reside in \\Mailbox that I can view just fine in CPA, but any of the SharePoint calendars from \\SharePoint_Lists have the red X and error listed in the original post. I have tried running %windir%\system32\fixmapi.exe and reindexing. It looked as if it was going to work (for a few seconds) after performing those steps, but then it changed back to a red X and has not worked again. Time is of the essence and so any help would be greatly appreciated! Thanks much! Ann

has anyone found a solution yet, we have a client that wants to print multiple calendars in overlay mode, to post weekly schedules for staff members. CPA will print regular calendars, but when we try to view the sharepoint calendars, same as everyone else, we can see them, select them, add them, but they appear with a red X, thus not being able to pull the data from the calendar to populate CPA. does anyone know of any other way to be able to print multiple (sharepoint) calendars in overlay mode, since obviously this isnt a supported from CPA.
